Just installed my new quad and I'm getting rather hot temps around 41C Which is odd because I should be getting around 30C, is it possible I haven't installed it tightly enough? I'm using Artic Silver Ceramique, however it is a rather old tube of the stuff. And it's 200Hr burn in won't lower it more than about 5C at max usually. Edited Sat May 15 2010, 11:40PM | ||

It's summer. What's your room temp? That has much to do with it. Pop on the AC and watch that temp drop considerably :P My AC is set to 73 and it keeps my cpu around 30^ on idle w/standard hsf. Of course, I have a window unit on my computer room and I don't use the apt's AC. So the room is better regulated for temp. Of course, hardcore gaming drives that temp up, but I can't expect much out of the standard hsf. Still, the room temp being kept comfortable is doing wonders for my cpu/case temp. |
