Lol - and the debate goes on... For me I have both... I will take an AK47 any day.. Less accurate yes... More reliable yes.. More knock down power yes... Easy to break down yes.. AK's are made for close combat not sniping.. Anyway.. Article link [-link-] |

I haven't shot either. I would prefer the one that's more accurate though. And I suppose that's mainly because I'd prefer to be hiding and sniping, or taking well aimed shots from protected areas with a more precise weapon. I don't know why they don't give military personnel a choice between weapons. Why make them all have the same gun? | ||

For the most part logistics. It easier to supply one common round instead different ones. Hince, the SAW takes the NATO round also. | ||

i'd also prefer the one thats more accurate. but reliability would seem the most important attribute. | ||

Lots of the trouble is the fact that the m4 and similar platforms are plagued by an inability to function in environments that have lots of particles in the air. Like Sand. That's why we've made the switch to the FN SCAR. Out of the new platforms it was the probably the cheapest and there's a factory in the US that makes them (politicals hate having to get a gun from someone that isn't in the US). But it can also handle lots of abuse and it's accurate. Has a lot more stuff going for it too. In this fight between the m4 and ak, I'd rather have the gun that can blast through a thick tree and still kill the guy behind it...so my pick will be the AK. |
