Not sure who this may pertain too but for those of you that may have a Samsung SSD drive there was a software update to the Samsung Magician Software last night. The reason that I am posting this is because there was a problem I thought originally with my motherboard not correctly detecting the SSD drive in AHCI Mode in the bios which is whats required to run in Sata 6gb mode. Everytime I would open the software and do some maintenance on the drive there was that stupid message telling me to turn on AHCI Mode to get better performance even though it was on in the Bios. This update has resolved this issue and apparently my motherboard was not the only one having this issue. The new update correctly reports the state the drive is in and will now see all other drives connected to the system and have the ability to benchmark them as well. It has of course improved the overall performance of the drive on my system to the point that it is exceeding the known benchmark results for this drive as tested and sold which is even nicer. So if you own Samsung SSD I highly recommend getting the software update. It may pop up automatically and ask you to update the software if you have the Samsung Magician app as apart of your boot software that loads when Windows loads like I do. |
